There is the option of floating hardwood flooring which doesn't involve as extensive of a process as traditional-solid hardwood flooring.  Essentially, it goes down quite fast. With floating hardwood flooring, basically the flooring is snapped into place. There is not stapling or gluing, and it can overlay any type of base floor. This would be your wisest choice if you are planning on installing over a concrete floor. Then, there is the traditional-solid hardwood flooring which takes more involvement when installing. It involves gluing and stapling, and requires a layer of plywood if you plan on placing over a concrete base. To give you an estimate it is best to call our offices, but for the moment I would advise you to preparing spending no less that $3.50 per sq/ft.

It is important to remember, no matter which form of flooring you install it is imperative to make sure the floor you are laying on is leveled. Additionally, these are other big "No No's" when installing flooring:

Not checking for moisture
Being lazy with the layout
Back racking
Not nailing enough (Traditional-Solid Hardwood Flooring)
Now that we have all of the tools and rules you next step is to familiarize yourself with the instructions before you begin. Please, do not begin installation while reading the instructions for the first time. This can lead to a few if not all of the "No No's" list.

Start off by making sure your floor is dry, clean and leveled. Once you have established that your floor is ready to begin, go ahead and remove the trimmings and moldings for you will be reapplying these after installation. Now that you are prepared here are your installation steps:
Roll out underlayment

Measure your boards with your longest wall (prevents cutting boards too short)

When you begin to lay it is best to work from left to right, and always lay so that the tongue of the board is facing the wall.

Use spacers between the board so there is enough room for expansion to take place.

Repeat throughout the rest of the room until your last board

When installing your last board you may need to cut horizontally as well as vertically in order to get the perfect fit.

After you have installed your last row, you may remove all of the spacers and reapply all of the trimmings and moldings you took off earlier.
